Gambling at the Races

An amazing AED 250,000 is up for grabs in the new Super Trio competition, one of many fantastic competitions featured at this year’s Dubai World Cup meeting on March 31.
To claim the bumper prize, racegoers will have to predict who finishes first, second and third in the last three races on the card, the Dubai Sheema Classic, the Dubai Duty Free and then the Dubai World Cup.
Each purchaser of a DWC pen who is over 16 will receive a complimentary entry form for the Super Trio competition.
All forms have to be deposited in the collection boxes before 7pm on race day. The pens cost AED10 and there is no limit on how many you can buy.
The hugely-popular Pick Seven competition will also challenge the public’s racing knowledge. Select the winner of all seven races and you could be galloping home with some fabulous cash prizes.
Forms will be available at each entry gate, with collection points distributed throughout the race course. But remember, the Pick Seven forms must be submitted by 4.30pm.
Meanwhile, Emirates, the title sponsor of the 2007 Dubai World Cup, is offering all racegoers the chance to win 1,000,000 Skywards miles in the Skywards ‘Thanks a Million’ Draw. For just AED 20 per raffle ticket (or AED 100 for six) you could walk away from the Dubai World Cup one million Skywards miles richer, the equivalent of 25 Dubai – Europe return trips, or 20 trips to the Far East! There will also be two additional prizes of 250,000 Skywards miles each. With hundreds of destinations to choose from, you will have a lot of globe-trotting to look forward to! The ticket sales will go towards Riding for the Disabled Association of Dubai – a therapeutic riding programme for children and young adults with special needs.
