The Abra (Link) is a traditional means of water transport across the creek linking Deira and Bur Dubai districts.Dubai Municipality is restoring the heritage of Dubai by maintaining the traditional way of water transport and through its Public Transport dept.,has given special attention to the preservation of Abras (small traditional boats used to cross the creek). Abra was, and is still, used as a mode of transportation in the Creek. Such efforts made the Abras safe and secure to use.

The stations are positioned across the Creek are the Creek park station and the Public Library station,
The fares are very resonable and oldfashioned in comparison to all ski-roceting prices in Dubai.
Rowing Abra cost AED 30 per hour and crossing the creek AED 1 per passenger.
The Motorised Abra it is small motorized dhow that can seat 20 passengers. About 150 Abras ply on two routes to and from 04 stations carrying about 15 million passengers annually. The fare is cheap at 50 fils and the cruise across the creek takes less than 10 minutes. Pleasure trips are available at Dh 50 per hour.
The Public Transport department is responsible for issue/renewal of Abra permits and for ensuring safe and trouble-free operations. The Abra stations are built and maintained by the Dubai Municipality.
